Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince: thoughts and what have you...

So, I waited in line a super long time to get my book at books a million with my friend allie, but, there is a plus side of getting in line that earlier: we were second to get our books. I started reading that night- then got up at the crack of dawn to go get my brother's book at Toys R Us, mainly cause you got a free t-shirt that I'm going to have to turn into a pillow. Then, after being up for around...countless hours, I went to my mom's house and crashed, then went home around 5, started reading at 7, and finished around midnight.

So, big surprise: Dumbledore. Big shock. I honestly thought it was going to be a Weasly that died. I cried, but not as badly as I did when sirius did in OotP.

To the half blood prince/snape... in a way, I'm in love with the way she handled that, and also kinda let down, because for the past 5 books Harry has hated Snape so much, but didn't go to crazy about it because Dumbledore trusted him so much. I still think that there is a concrete reason for that trust- I guess we shall find out in the next book. A part of my theory still thinks that Snape is somehow doing something for the good guys, but remembering how badly he was treated by James and Sirius, I am on the fence. I should have been clued on to Snape being the half blood prince when it was in a potion's book, but I was thinking it was going to be Voldermort.

Speaking of Voldermort, wow... seeing into his past was a neat thing. Very fun, in a weird way. Seeing that he was once a human being with a soul. Well... he still has a soul, it's just in seven pieces. Reading that disturbed me, and that loss of humanity reminded me faintly of Star Wars, as the Seven Books in the Harry Potter series reminded me of Stephen King's Dark Tower.

I am going to be very interested in seeing how the 7th book turns out. There are a lot of loose ends now- 4 of the horucuxes (sp?), killing of either voldermort or harry.. fun things.

Awwww! Harry and Ginny! Adorable! I knew those two were going to get together, and the seeds of Ron and Hermoine are in place for the next book.

All and all, I highly enjoyed reading it, and it went by really fast. A good read- I now want to go back and read OotP.

Little kids dressed up as harry potter are sooo adorable, and the idea of a house elf costume is neat. There were two at the midnight thing I went to- it'd be a neat thing for the next book release.

Took a small break from sequins work. Started again today with wathcing Moulin Rouge. Or some of it, at least. now I'm taking a small break from that to update over here, since I haven't in a while.

SPOILERS HERE!!!

I thought that Dumbledore told Harry after he found out from Trelawney that it was Snape listening at the door, that the reason for his great trust in Snape was because he had shown great remorse for bringing about Lily and James' deaths... For betraying them... I think he ran to Dumbledore right after it happened, because he needed a place to be hidden...

...that coward...

Interesting point... Snape's remorse. (speaking of snape, the guy who plays him is in galaxy quest and is cute... ) I just thinik it should be more than that. But, Voldermort rags on Dumbledore for his faith in the good of man, so if that theory is true, it's kind of mean ironic that it's snape who kills him. *thinks* It's possible, but, I read too much Stephen King- there's got to be a bigger twist. Something like... I don't know, I haven't thought of an alternitive. ^_^.

Snape is a coward. Run you little chicken! WE shall avenge dumbledore! *laughs*
